Accessibility at mum collective
We want everyone to be able to use our website and, in time, our platform. This page explains our commitment, what we are doing and how to reach us if you need help.
Transportation and opportunity should be open to everyone.
mum collective is being built around safety, independence and opportunity. Accessibility is part of that. We aim to design our website and future app so that people with different abilities, devices and needs can use them.
Our commitment
Mum Collective Ltd. is committed to providing a website and services that are usable by as many people as possible, including people with visual, hearing, mobility and cognitive disabilities. We treat accessibility as an ongoing responsibility, not a one-time task.
Standards we are working toward
We are working toward meeting the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA for our website. This is a goal we are working toward, and we do not claim full conformance until it has been independently verified.
We also aim to follow applicable Canadian and provincial accessibility and human rights requirements as our services launch in each market.
What we do on our website
Clear structure
Pages use logical headings, landmarks and plain language so content is easy to follow and navigate.
Keyboard friendly
We aim for menus, buttons, forms and accordions that can be used without a mouse.
Readable design
We aim for sufficient colour contrast and text that can be resized without breaking the layout.
Descriptive content
Meaningful images include text alternatives, and links and buttons use descriptive labels.
Accessible forms
Form fields have clear labels, and errors and confirmations are shown in text, not only by colour.
Mobile-first
Our pages are built to work on phones, tablets and desktop screens.
Rides and the mum collective app
The mum collective app and rides have not launched yet. As we design them, we intend to consider accessibility from the start, including readable screens, clear controls and ways to share accessibility needs for a trip.
Drivers and riders are expected to respect applicable human rights and accessibility laws. Details of how accessibility needs are supported on trips, including service animals and mobility aids, will be confirmed before launch.
We will not describe a specific accessibility feature as available until it is ready for use.
Known limitations
Despite our efforts, some parts of the website may not yet be fully accessible. This can include:
- Content or tools provided by third parties, such as maps, embedded forms or video.
- Documents or images that were added without full accessibility checks.
- New pages and features that are still being tested.
If you find a barrier, please tell us so we can fix it or provide the information another way.
Need information in another way?
If you cannot use any part of our website, or you need information in a different format, contact us and we will work with you to provide it. Examples include plain-text or large-print versions of a page, or help completing the waitlist by email.
Share accessibility feedback
We welcome feedback on the accessibility of our website. When you contact us, it helps to include:
- The page address (URL) or name of the page.
- What you were trying to do and what went wrong.
- The device, browser and any assistive technology you used.
- How you would like us to reply.
We aim to acknowledge accessibility feedback within [5] business days and will tell you what we plan to do about it. You will not face any negative consequence for raising an accessibility concern.
How we keep improving
We review our pages as they change, test with keyboard and screen reader tools, and fix issues we find. We will update this statement as our website grows and as our app and services launch.
